Delaware Investment’s subsidiary, Morogoro Mishama Company, has entered an agreement with Marriott International for Le Méridien Zanzibar Resort in Tanzania.

The new property will house 75 guest rooms and villas, providing uninterrupted views of the Indian Ocean.

Its amenities include a speciality restaurant, an open-air bar, and a variety of recreational amenities such as a fitness centre, swimming pool, spa, kids club, and lagoon.

Morogoro and Marriott will collaborate with ALEPH Hospitality to manage the franchised property.

Aleph Hospitality founder and managing director Bani Haddad said: “We are very excited to be entrusted with the operations of Le Méridien Zanzibar Resort.

“This stunning, modern resort will be an incredible addition to the hospitality offering in Zanzibar, which has seen a surge in growth with international tourism arrivals surpassing a record one million mark just last month.”

Additionally, the Le Méridien Zanzibar resort aims to attract global travellers by offering ‘Savour the Good Life’, which encapsulates the brand’s rich European heritage and chic signature programming.

The resort, located in Bwejuu on the Eastern coast of Zanzibar Island, is anticipated to open its doors next year.

In January, 2024, Marriott chose Oracle’s hospitality cloud platform for its luxury, premium, select Service, and midscale properties.
