Qatar has announced plans to open more than 100 new properties as the country prepares to host the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

It intends to add around 105 new hotels and hotel apartments to expand the country’s appeal to attract a range of travellers while improving the visitor experience.

The new properties being added to Qatar’s 184-property strong portfolio include the recently opened Banyan Tree Doha, a five-star luxury property designed by interior designer Jacques Garcia.

The property has five dining options, 341 rooms, suites and residences.

Other hotels which are soon-to-open include the JW Marriott West Bay, Pullman Doha West Bay, and the Steigenberger Hotel Doha.

The Pullman Doha West Bay is due to open later this year.

It will comprise 375 rooms and suites, 93 apartments along with contemporary conference rooms and the expansive ballroom for business events.

Besides, it will include gym and spa, nine gastronomic outlets, and the outdoor pool for guests to relax.

The 53-storey JW Marriott West Bay will be opened soon for travellers and offer views of Doha’s skyline.

It will have 297 rooms, sports and fitness facilities, a variety of restaurants, and a terrace swimming pool on the 30th floor.

Furthermore, the Steigenberger Hotel Doha with 204 rooms and suites will be opened for travellers looking for accommodation close to the airport.

The new hotel will feature a rooftop pool, a spa, gym, various dining options along with a 4,300ft2 ballroom and six conference rooms for both personal and professional gatherings.
