Minimalist Hotels is set to open a boutique heritage property in Udaipur, India, with operations expected to begin by the end of this month.

The Minimalist – Lake Pichola Edit property will be based within Bawlas ki Haveli, a historic structure dating to 1820.

The move marks Minimalist Hotels’ entry into Udaipur’s hospitality sector, an area noted for its leisure and heritage tourism market.

This addition is part of the brand’s broader strategy to expand across India’s boutique hospitality segment and is aimed at travellers seeking accommodation that integrates design and cultural immersion.

The hotel is expected to feature 18 rooms categorised as Maharaja Suite, Maharani Suite, Superior Twin Rooms, and Superior King Rooms.

Minimalist Hotels founder Gautam Munjal said: “Udaipur has always been a city that leaves a lasting impression with its beauty, culture, and timeless charm.

"With this property, we wanted to create more than just a stay; we wanted to build an experience that feels deeply connected to the soul of the city while reflecting the simplicity and thoughtful design philosophy of Minimalist Hotels.

“Every element of the space has been curated with intention, and we’re excited to finally bring our brand to Udaipur.”

In May 2025, Minimalist Hotels announced an expansion plan to add 20 new properties across India over the next two years.
