Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in August 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 47.92% in August 2021, a 4.17% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 18.75% in August 2021, marking a 125% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 16.67% in August 2021, a 33.33% rise from July 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 24% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s travel & tourism industry during August 2021 over previous month.
Qatar Airways Group QCSC posted 12 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered an increase of 33.33% over the previous month, followed by Guesty with 6 jobs and a 20% growth. Etihad Aviation Group with 5 IT jobs and Uber Technologies with 5 jobs, recorded a 400% rise and a 50% drop, respectively, while Evolution Gaming Group recorded a flat growth with 3 job postings during August 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s travel & tourism industry
United Arab Emirates commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with a 33.33% share in August 2021, a 77.78% increase over July 2021. Qatar featured next with a 25% share, up 9.09% over the previous month. Egypt recorded a 14.58% share, a drop of 36.36% compared with July 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 58.33%, up by 33.33% from July 2021. Mid Level positions with a 29.17% share, registered a decline of 22.22% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 12.5% share, down 40% over July 2021.
