Booking Holdings’s IT hiring activity rises 5.9% in May 2022

US-based company Booking Holdings IT hiring rose 5.9% in May 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity increased by 1.56% in May 2022 when compared with April 2022.

IT jobs claimed a 17.46% share in the company’s total hiring activity in May 2022, and recorded a 0.88% decline over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Booking Holdings IT hiring in May 2022

Out of the total IT job titles posted by Booking Holdings, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 81.13% in May 2022, and a 7.5% rise over April 2022, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 13.84% in May 2022, and registered growth of 37.5%. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 4.4% in May 2022, a 16.67% rise from April 2022.

Europe drives IT hiring at Booking Holdings

Europe emerged as the leading region in the global travel & tourism IT hiring activity in May 2022 with a 40.88% share, which marked a 30.11% drop over the previous month.

Asia-Pacific stood next with 40.25%, registering a 178.26% month-on-month growth. North America was the third leading region with a 17.61% share and a 3.7% rise over April 2022.

In the fourth place was Middle East & Africa with a share of 1.26% and a month-on-month decline of 33.33%.

Netherlands commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with a 28.93% share in May 2022, a 30.3% decline over April 2022. Thailand featured next with a 16.35% share, up 271.43% over the previous month. US recorded an 11.95% share, an increase of 5.56% compared with April 2022.

Junior Level jobs lead Booking Holdings IT hiring activity in May 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 70.44%, up by 9.8% from April 2022. Mid Level positions with a 22.01% share, a growth of 9.38% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 7.55% share, flat growth over April 2022.
