
Canada’s travel & tourism industry registered a 7.6% rise in IT hiring activity in February 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 19.52% in February 2022 when compared with January 2022.
Out of the travel & tourism industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 6.18% share in February 2022, recording a decrease of 0.46% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Canada’s travel & tourism industry’s IT recruitment activity in February 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.78% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s travel & tourism industry in February 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 56.1% in February 2022, registering a 27.78% growth over the previous month.
2) Computer Support Specialists claimed a 13.41% share, an increase of 83.33% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 12.2%, registering an 11.11% rise from January 2022.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 8.54%, up 250% over the previous month.
Top five travel & tourism companies in Canada’s IT recruitment activity in February 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 70.83% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s travel & tourism industry during February 2022 over January 2022.
Canadian Pacific Railway posted 11 IT jobs in February 2022 and registered a growth over the previous month, followed by Booking Holdings with 9 jobs and a 200% growth. CEVA Logistics with 8 IT jobs and Cineplex with 7 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 16.67% growth, respectively, while The Walt Disney recorded an increase of 50% with 6 job postings during February 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in February 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 73.17%, up by 50% from January 2022. Mid Level positions with a 17.07% share, registered a decline of 17.65% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 9.76% share, up 60% over January 2022.
