April 2022 has seen an increase of 2.77% in the overall hiring activity when compared with March 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 7.22% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in April 2022, registering a decrease of 0.47% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in April 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 68.95% in April 2022, a 9.66% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 16.67% in April 2022, marking a 1.06% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 8.95% in April 2022, a 13.56% drop from March 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 2.4% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s travel & tourism industry during April 2022 over previous month.
Booking Holdings posted 146 IT jobs in April 2022 and registered an increase of 1023.08% over the previous month, followed by FlixMobility with 56 jobs and a 40.43% drop. A.P. Moller – Maersk with 55 IT jobs and Deutsche Lufthansa with 44 jobs, recorded a 15.38% drop and a 63.03% drop, respectively, while Deutsche Bahn recorded a 4.76% decline with 40 job postings during April 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s travel & tourism industry
Germany commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with a 23.33% share in April 2022, a 46.8% decrease over March 2022. Netherlands featured next with a 22.11% share, up 186.36% over the previous month. The UK recorded a 20.53% share, a drop of 2.5% compared with March 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in April 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 78.25%, down by 8.04% from March 2022. Mid Level positions with a 14.21% share, registered a flat growth compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 7.19% share, down 54.44% over March 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.35%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
