Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in October 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 62.89% in October 2021, a 12.09% rise over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 18.13% in October 2021, marking an 8.09% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 10.11% in October 2021, a 51.85% rise from September 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 8.78% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s travel & tourism industry during October 2021 over previous month.
A.P. Moller – Maersk posted 81 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered an increase of 3.85% over the previous month, followed by DSV with 73 jobs and a 12.31% growth. Deutsche Bahn with 61 IT jobs and Expedia Group with 54 jobs, recorded a 19.61% rise and a 23.94% drop, respectively, while Deutsche Lufthansa recorded a 70.97% increase with 53 job postings during October 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s travel & tourism industry
The UK commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with a 25.77% share in October 2021, a 2.34% decrease over September 2021. Germany featured next with a 24.17% share, up 18.79% over the previous month. Poland recorded an 8.63% share, a growth of 52.17% compared with September 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 70.28%, up by 13.55% from September 2021. Mid Level positions with a 16.03% share, registered a growth of 26.21% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 13.32% share, up 2.86% over September 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.37%, recording a month-on-month decline of 25%.
