US-based company Expedia Group ’s IT hiring rose 2.0% in April 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity increased by 1.07% in April 2022 when compared with March 2022.

IT jobs claimed a 33.4% share in the company’s total hiring activity in April 2022, and recorded a 0.59% decline over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Expedia Group IT hiring in April 2022

Out of the total IT job titles posted by Expedia Group, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 83.1% in April 2022, and a 28.26% rise over March 2022, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 9.86% in April 2022, and registered growth of 133.33%. Computer and Information Research Scientists held a share of 2.82% in April 2022, a 33.33% drop from March 2022.

North America drives IT hiring at Expedia Group

North America emerged as the leading region in the global travel & tourism IT hiring activity in April 2022 with a 51.41% share, which marked a 7.35% rise over the previous month.

Asia-Pacific stood next with 33.8%, registering a 108.7% month-on-month growth. Europe was the third leading region with a 13.38% share and an 11.76% rise over March 2022.

In the fourth place was Middle East & Africa with a share of 1.41% and a month-on-month increase of 100%.

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with a 50.7% share in April 2022, a 7.46% growth over March 2022. India featured next with a 33.1% share, up 123.81% over the previous month. The UK recorded a 9.86% share, an increase of 55.56% compared with March 2022.

Junior Level jobs lead Expedia Group IT hiring activity in April 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 82.39%, up by 48.1% from March 2022. Mid Level positions with an 11.97% share, a decline of 5.56% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 5.63% share, down 20% over March 2022.
