
India’s travel & tourism industry registered a 14.6% drop in IT hiring activity in March 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 2.68% in March 2022 when compared with February 2022.
Out of the travel & tourism industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 15.21% share in March 2022, recording a decrease of 0.32% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in India’s travel & tourism industry’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 101.14% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s travel & tourism industry in March 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 76.7% in March 2022, registering a 44.67% decline over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 7.95% share, a flat growth over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 7.95%, registering a 41.67% decline from February 2022.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 4.55%, down 27.27% over the previous month.
Top five travel & tourism companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 58.16% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s travel & tourism industry during March 2022 over February 2022.
The Walt Disney posted 46 IT jobs in March 2022 and registered a drop of 64.06% over the previous month. A.P. Moller – Maersk with 30 IT jobs and Expedia with 21 jobs, recorded a 50% decline and a 44.74% decrease, respectively.
Junior Level job postings dominate in March 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 71.59%, down by 36.36% from February 2022. Mid Level positions with a 21.59% share, registered a decline of 54.22% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 6.82% share, down 33.33% over February 2022.
