The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 6.25% in May 2022 when compared with April 2022.
Out of the travel & tourism industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 9.32% share in May 2022, recording an increase of 0.88% over the last three-month average share.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 8.33% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Malaysia’s travel & tourism industry during May 2022 over April 2022.
Genting posted 14 IT jobs in May 2022 and registered a rise of 75% over the previous month, followed by Genting Group with 14 jobs and a flat growth. Capital A with 3 IT jobs and Malaysia Airports Holdings with 1 jobs, recorded a 78.57% decline and a flat growth, respectively, while Westports Holdings recorded a flat growth with 1 job postings during May 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 63.64%, down by 16% from April 2022. Entry Level positions with a 36.36% share, registered an increase of 50% compared with the previous month.
