July 2022 has seen a decrease of 6.32% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 1.31% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2022, registering a decrease of 0.98% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in July 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 35.71% in July 2022, a 23.08% drop over the previous month. Computer and Information Research Scientists came in next, claiming a share of 17.86% in July 2022, marking a 150% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 14.29% in July 2022, a flat growth from June 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 150% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s travel & tourism industry during July 2022 over previous month.
Qatar Airways Group QCSC posted 13 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered an increase of 116.67% over the previous month, followed by The Emirates Group with 6 jobs and a 50% growth. Expedia Group with 3 IT jobs and Kerzner International Holdings with 2 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while SITA recorded a flat growth with 1 job postings during July 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s travel & tourism industry
Qatar commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with a 46.43% share in July 2022, an 85.71% increase over June 2022. United Arab Emirates featured next with a 35.71% share, down 9.09% over the previous month. Jordan recorded a 10.71% share, a growth of 200% compared with June 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 75%, flat growth from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 17.86% share, registered a growth of 66.67% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 7.14% share, down 33.33% over June 2022.
