Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in February 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 61.51% in February 2022, a 33.83% rise over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 11.34% in February 2022, marking a 17.61% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 10.66% in February 2022, a 9.79% rise from January 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 27.56% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s travel & tourism industry during February 2022 over previous month.
The Walt Disney posted 187 IT jobs in February 2022 and registered a decline of 14.61% over the previous month, followed by United Parcel Service with 147 jobs and a 53.13% growth. Expedia Group with 120 IT jobs and Booking Holdings with 76 jobs, recorded an 185.71% rise and a 300% rise, respectively, while J.B. Hunt Transport Services recorded a 27.17% decline with 67 job postings during February 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s travel & tourism industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with a 93.89% share in February 2022, a 16.61% increase over January 2022. Canada featured next with a 5.5% share, up 32.79% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 0.54% share, a growth of 14.29% compared with January 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in February 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 59.95%, up by 19.81% from January 2022. Mid Level positions with a 22.88% share, registered a growth of 16.21% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 16.77% share, up 10.76% over January 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.41%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
