May 2022 has seen a decrease of 4.15% in the overall hiring activity when compared with April 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 3.8% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in May 2022, registering an increase of 1.16% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in May 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 63.16% in May 2022, a 9.09% rise over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 15.79% in May 2022, marking a flat month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer Support Specialists with a share of 10.53% in May 2022, a flat growth from April 2022.

Uber Technologies posted 12 IT jobs in May 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by A.P. Moller – Maersk with 3 jobs and a flat growth. BCD Travel Services with 2 IT jobs and CWT with 1 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while TripAdvisor recorded a flat growth with 1 job postings during May 2022.

Chile commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with a 42.11% share in May 2022, a 14.29% increase over April 2022. Colombia featured next with a 21.05% share, down 42.86% over the previous month. Costa Rica recorded a 15.79% share, a flat growth compared with April 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 94.74%, flat growth from April 2022. Entry Level positions with a 5.26% share, registered a flat growth compared with the previous month.
