April 2022 has seen a decrease of 7.15% in the overall hiring activity when compared with March 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 3.98% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in April 2022, registering an increase of 1.24% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in April 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 84.38% in April 2022, a 237.5% rise over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 9.38% in April 2022, marking a 25% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 6.25% in April 2022, a flat growth from March 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 328.57% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s travel & tourism industry during April 2022 over previous month.
Uber Technologies posted 20 IT jobs in April 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by A.P. Moller – Maersk with 6 jobs and a 14.29% drop. SITA with 2 IT jobs and Accor with 1 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Marriott International recorded a flat growth with 1 job postings during April 2022.

Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with a 59.38% share in April 2022, a flat growth over March 2022. Colombia featured next with an 18.75% share, up 20% over the previous month. Chile recorded a 9.38% share, a growth of 50% compared with March 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in April 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 81.25%, up by 85.71% from March 2022. Entry Level positions with a 12.5% share, registered a flat growth compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 3.13% share, flat growth over March 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 3.13%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
