
The UK’s travel & tourism industry registered a 2.5% drop in IT hiring activity in March 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 0.48% in March 2022 when compared with February 2022.
Out of the travel & tourism industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 4.8% share in March 2022, recording an increase of 0.21% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the UK’s travel & tourism industry’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 96.27% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s travel & tourism industry in March 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 60.45% in March 2022, registering a 26.36% decline over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 12.69% share, an increase of 13.33% over the previous month.
3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 11.94%, registering a 38.46% decline from February 2022.
4) Computer and Information Research Scientists captured a share of 5.97%, up 100% over the previous month.
Top five travel & tourism companies in the UK’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 27.08% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s travel & tourism industry during March 2022 over February 2022.
Caesars Entertainment posted 20 IT jobs in March 2022 and registered a drop of 20% over the previous month, followed by A.P. Moller – Maersk with 17 jobs and a 58.54% drop. TUI with 11 IT jobs and Greene King with 11 jobs, recorded an 8.33% decline and a 22.22% growth, respectively, while Greene King recorded an increase of 22.22% with 11 job postings during March 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in March 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 74.63%, down by 18.7% from February 2022. Mid Level positions with a 13.43% share, registered a decline of 45.45% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 11.94% share, up 77.78% over February 2022.
