The UK’s travel & tourism industry registered a 3.5% drop in IT hiring activity in February 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 1.69% in February 2022 when compared with January 2022.
Out of the travel & tourism industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 4.39% share in February 2022, recording an increase of 0.77% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the UK’s travel & tourism industry’s IT recruitment activity in February 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 97.44% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s travel & tourism industry in February 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 60.9% in February 2022, registering a 4.4% growth over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 16.03% share, a decrease of 7.41% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 9.62%, registering a 34.78% decline from January 2022.
4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 5.77%, up 12.5% over the previous month.
Top five travel & tourism companies in the UK’s IT recruitment activity in February 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 5.68% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s travel & tourism industry during February 2022 over January 2022.
A.P. Moller – Maersk posted 28 IT jobs in February 2022 and registered a drop of 3.45% over the previous month, followed by Caesars Entertainment with 23 jobs and a 36.11% drop. TUI with 12 IT jobs and Expedia Group with 11 jobs, recorded an 1100% growth and an 8.33% decrease, respectively, while Greene King recorded a decline of 10% with 9 job postings during February 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in February 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 77.56%, down by 2.42% from January 2022. Mid Level positions with a 17.31% share, registered a decline of 15.63% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 5.13% share, down 33.33% over January 2022.
