Five largest hotel construction projects initiated globally in Q1 2022

Here are the largest hotel construction projects initiated globally in Q1 2022, according to GlobalData’s construction projects database.

1. 520 Fifth Avenue Mixed-Use Tower – $1,000m

The project involves the construction of a 71-story, 304m high mixed-use development on a 41,806m2 area in New York, the US.

Construction work started in Q1 2022 and is expected to be completed in Q4 2026.

The project aims to build a mixed-use tower to provide better residential, commercial and leisure facilities in the region. Upon completion, it will achieve LEED, WELL, and WiredScore certifications for the property.

2. Panama City Beach Mixed-Use Community – $1,000m

The project involves the construction of a mixed-use community on 383.6ha land in Florida, the US.

Construction work commenced in Q1 2022 and is expected to finish in Q4 2024.

The project aims to provide better residential, commercial, and retail facilities in the region.

3. Cap Padaran Mui Dinh – $1,000m

The project involves the construction of a hotel and resort complex on 800ha of land in Mui Dinh, Ninh Thuan, Vietnam.

Construction work started in Q1 2022 and is forecast to complete in Q4 2025.

The project aims to enhance the hospitality, leisure, and commercial facilities in the region.

4. Seafarers Place Mixed-Use Development – $387m

The project involves the construction of a 20-story, 13,200m2 mixed-use complex in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

Construction work commenced in Q1 2022 and is expected to be completed in Q2 2024.

The project aims to provide better residential, hospitality, and retail facilities in the region. It will create 1,023 construction jobs and 680 jobs upon completion.

5. Blackpool Central Station Mixed-Use Community – $382m

The project involves the construction of a mixed-use community on 6.9ha of land at Central Station site, Liverpool, England, the UK.

Construction work started in Q1 2022 and is expected to be completed in Q4 2028.

The aim of the project is to provide better leisure and entertainment facilities in the region.
