Accor has signed an agreement with Saudi Arabia-based company Dur Hospitality to develop a Rixos brand resort and five-star luxury hotel in Jeddah.

The development will be the first Rixos resort in the Kingdom and the first luxurious integrated resort of its kind in the Saudi Arabian city.

The Rixos Jeddah Resort will be located on Jeddah’s Obhor Bay on the Red Sea.

Dur Hospitality board chairman Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Issa said: “The partnership agreement with Accor aligns with our strategy to enhance our capabilities and cement our leading position in the Kingdom’s hospitality sector by offering our guests the best services and experiences available in the hospitality industry locally and internationally.

“This partnership simultaneously contributes to developing the sector’s role in achieving the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 which inspires us to keep pace with the guests’ expectations and provide them with the latest premium hospitality products and services.”

The Makarem Annakheel Village will be upgraded and renovated to transform into a resort with a five-star luxury hotel.

Rixos Jeddah Resort will have 174 rooms and 73 villas, a central ballroom for special events, three conference halls, a health club for women and men.

It will also feature a private beach, a kid’s water park, several swimming pools, beauty parlour, a fitness centre, a main fine-dining restaurant, a café, and a beach restaurant.
