Accor Pacific CEO Sarah Derry said: “Mövenpick is a brand name that New Zealanders are familiar with, which is associated with quality and luxury.

“The strategic location of both Mövenpick hotels in cosmopolitan centres provides travellers with a gateway to each city, and all the culinary, retail and commercial amenities they have on offer.”

Accor is also planning to open a Mövenpick brand property in Wellington, which is expected to open in July.

According to Accor, the two Mövenpick properties in Auckland and Wellington will also be dining destinations for the visitors, offering Asian fusion cuisine at Wellington’s Forage restaurant and Auckland’s BODA restaurant.

Mövenpick hospitality brand has properties in more than 110 locations across the world.

Apart from Wellington’s property, Accord will also open Mövenpick Hotel Brisbane Spring Hill, in Queensland, Australia in 2024.
