International hospitality real estate group PPHE Hotel Group has announced a repositioning programme for its Berlin Mitte property in Germany.

The programme will transform the property into a new generation upscale premium lifestyle art’otel branded hotel.

It is part of PPHE’s strategy to revive and promote the positioning of its art’otel brand.

Currently, art’otel Berlin Mitte is approaching the end of a €2.8m investment project to transform the property.

The programme includes the renovation of the hotel’s public areas as well as the opening of a spa and wellness area.

The last stage of the repositioning will consist of an extensive makeover of all 109 bedrooms and suites, bathrooms and hallways, with all related works expected to be finished by the end of the first quarter of next year.

London and Zagreb-based design studio Atellior designed the property.

The hotel is situated in the city centre and close to several tourist locations, including the Alexanderplatz with its TV tower, the Museum Island, The Berlin Palace (Stadtschloss) with Humboldt Forum, Berlin Cathedral, East Side Gallery, Checkpoint Charlie and Potsdamer Platz.

This investment initiative follows the opening of the art’otel Amsterdam and the recent launch of art’otel London Battersea Power Station.

PPHE Hotel Group’s development plan for 2023 and 2024 includes three more new-generation art’otel-branded properties in Zagreb, Rome and London Hoxton.

PPHE Hotel Group president and CEO Boris Ivesha said: “We are thrilled to be transforming art’otel Berlin Mitte to become our latest new generation art’otel.

“In the next 12 months, we plan to open exciting new lifestyle art’otel branded properties in Zagreb, Rome and London Hoxton and we have an appetite to grow the brand further through a number of additional new acquisitions and joint venture partnerships.”
