Hospitality franchisor Choice Hotels has awarded franchise agreements to VRL Hotels, led by Victor Patel, for new Cambria Hotels in Tennessee, US.
As part of the agreement, Patel will develop new Cambria Hotels in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge cities.
Choice Hotels upscale brands development senior vice-president Mark Shalala said: “The Cambria Hotels brand had robust development activity heading into the recent downturn, and we continue to grow despite the current challenging landscape.
“Since June, we’ve added five new hotels coast to coast — from Madeira Beach, Florida to Sonoma, California — and our developers continue to be heavily invested in the growth of the brand, as evidenced by these new franchise agreements in two highly sought-after leisure markets in Tennessee.
“We look forward to building on our success as we close out the year and begin a new one with more excitement on the horizon for the brand.”
Scheduled for opening in 2022, the proposed Cambria Hotel Gatlinburg will feature a rooftop bar and restaurant.
Meanwhile, the proposed Cambria Hotel in Pigeon Forge is expected to open in 2024.
The two proposed hotels will be equipped with indoor and outdoor spaces, spa-style bathrooms with Bluetooth mirrors, on-site dining, multi-function meeting and event space and an advanced fitness centre.
Both the hotels will have 140 rooms and will take part in Choice Hotels’ Commitment to Clean initiative.
In July this year, Cambria Hotels opened a new location at Greenville in South Carolina for leisure and business travellers.
