Real estate investment and development firms Lowe and Dart Interests have announced the completion of development of The Sweetgrass Inn at Wild Dunes beach resort in Charleston, South Carolina.
Located on the Isle of Palms near downtown Charleston, the new 153-room boutique hotel features a mix of guest rooms and suites ranging from king, double queen and one-bedroom suites, a premier spa, two dining options and a pool deck.
It was designed by the McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture while the interiors were designed by Malcolm Berg of EoA.
The new resort hotel also offers views of the Atlantic Ocean, Lowcountry marshes, Charleston city skyline and Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge.
It also features 30,000ft2 meeting and event space, an 8,000ft2 of Osprey Ballroom & Terrace for multi-function events for up to 800 people as well as 3,000ft2 ballroom and a 6,000ft2 terrace for formal events and weddings.
Guests will also have complete access to Wild Dunes Resort’s golf courses, tennis club and white sand beaches.
The Sweetgrass Inn’s 10,000ft2 spa features 14 treatment rooms and indoor and outdoor relaxation spaces, along with a 3,000ft2 private outdoor spa garden with plunge pools and cabanas.
Dart Interests president Christopher Kelsey said: “The Sweetgrass Inn is a spectacular new hotel that significantly exceeds our expectations.
“Combined with other major improvements to the resort including major upgrades to the retail shops and the Boardwalk Inn, the opening of the Sweetgrass Inn is transformative to Wild Dunes, creating an entirely new and much higher quality guest experience.”
Currently, Wild Dunes Resort includes nine restaurants and cafes, indoor and outdoor meeting and function space, fitness centre and retail shops at The Shoppes at Sweetgrass.
