IHG Hotels & Resorts has entered into a management agreement with Kevit Retreats to establish a Holiday Inn Express & Suites property in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh, India.

The property is planned to open in the first quarter of 2028.

The new hotel is part of IHG’s strategic expansion in high-demand markets, particularly in India’s secondary cities where there is a gap in branded hospitality options.

Kevit Retreats spokesperson Aditya Agarwal said: “We are proud to partner with IHG Hotels & Resorts to bring the Holiday Inn Express & Suites brand to Pithampur. As the region continues to transform into a core economic zone for central India, we see strong potential for quality accommodation that meets international standards.

“With IHG’s global expertise and brand recognition, we are confident the hotel will emerge as a preferred choice for business travellers.”

Holiday Inn Express brand is expanding its footprint with more than 3,200 hotels globally.

The introduction of the Generation 5 concept by the brand represents a step forward in enhancing guest experiences with its adaptable design and outstanding value. This move consolidates the brand’s position across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Africa.

Pithampur, located in Madhya Pradesh, is known as the industrial hub of central India, hosting automobile and pharmaceutical companies.

Situated in the Indore Metropolitan Region, the Holiday Inn Express & Suites hotel will be component of a mixed-use development. It will include logistics, industrial, and warehousing facilities.

The hotel’s location is strategic, serving business travellers visiting the industrial and automotive clusters in the area.

With 150 rooms, meeting spaces, two dining options, a fitness centre, and parking facilities, the hotel is poised to meet the diverse needs of its guests.

IHG Hotels & Resorts South West Asia managing director Sudeep Jain said: “The signing of Holiday Inn Express & Suites Pithampur reinforces our focus on tapping into new markets and bridging the gap for world class branded hospitality experiences. Pithampur, located in Madhya Pradesh, has emerged as a key industrial powerhouse, particularly in the automotive and pharmaceutical sectors.

“The growing volume of business travel into the region makes it an ideal location for a brand like Holiday Inn Express, which is designed to meet the needs of today’s short-stay, purpose-driven travellers. We are pleased to partner with Kevit Retreats Private Limited for this upcoming project.”

IHG’s presence in India is robust, with 50 hotels across six brands and a pipeline of 63 hotels set to open in the next three to five years.

This expansion includes the recent management agreement with Gauri Resort & Banquet Services for a Holiday Inn Express & Suites property in Hapur, Uttar Pradesh, India.
