IHG Hotels and Resorts has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Saudi Tourism Authority (STA) at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2023 event.
The MoU outlines a framework for both parties to examine ways to promote inbound visitation to Saudi Arabia from significant markets in the Middle East and Africa.
This involves developing personalised promotions, cooperative marketing initiatives and loyalty programme promotion.
Saudi Arabia is said to be a strategic market for IHG in the Middle East with the country aiming for 100 million visitors by 2030.
The hospitality group intends to boost the country’s tourist economy by expanding the footprint of its current brands, adding new brands from its worldwide portfolio and undertaking campaigns to promote destinations inside the country.
IHG also intends to hire 6,000 nationals throughout its expanding portfolio by the end of this decade.
