InterContinental Hotels & Resorts (IHG) has expanded its luxury stay footprint in Asia-Pacific with the opening of Ana InterContinental Appi Kogen Resort in Japan.

The property marks the first luxury resort in Tohoku, Japan.

Appi Kogen is one of the largest ski resorts in the Tohoku region and is just over journey from Tokyo on the Shinkansen bullet train.

ANA InterContinental Appi Kogen Resort becomes the third IHG property in the Appi Kogen precinct. It joins ANA Crowne Plaza Resort Appi Kogen and ANA Holiday Inn Resort Appi Kogen that were rebranded in December last year.

The property joins over 200 InterContinental Hotels & Resorts across the globe.

It also reinforces the venture between ANA and IHG in Japan, complementing other luxury stays including ANA InterContinental Beppu Resort & Spa and InterContinental Yokohama Pier 8.
