MEININGER Hotels has opened its fourth location in France in the renewed urban area around the Marseille harbour.

MEININGER Hotel Marseille Centre La Joliette is located at 25/27 Rue de Forbin in the La Joliette district, Marseille.

The property has 194 rooms, 574 beds as well as 22 parking spaces. In 2019, MEININGER signed a contract with the French real estate developer COFFIM for the hotel.

The new building includes the hotel’s reception, lobby, bar and the MEININGER signature public areas including game zone and communal kitchen, which is open for all guests.

In addition, MEININGER Hotel Marseille Centre La Joliette features several fruit trees and herbs in the inner courtyard.

Interior design of the new hotel has been done by Paris-based interior design firm Karawitz.

MEININGER Hotels CEO Ajit Menon said: “I am pleased to introduce the MEININGER hotel in Marseille as the latest addition to our rapidly growing portfolio in France.

“The MEININGER concept appeals to various guest segments and is so far unique in Marseille. The flexible structure of our rooms appeals to families, educational and leisure groups, backpackers and business travellers.”

MEININGER Hotel Marseille Centre La Joliette follows the openings of the company’s three French properties located in Paris, Lyon and Bordeaux.

With the latest addition, the company now operates more than 2,600 beds in France.

In addition to this, MEININGER Hotel announced plans to open two more properties in Bremen and Dresden in Germany this year.

Menon added: “Our goal is to expand MEININGER’s hybrid hotel concept in new and existing markets such as France and Germany.”
