Radisson Hotel Group (RHG) has announced the opening of its first Radisson RED branded upscale lifestyle property in Madrid, Spain.

The Radisson RED Madrid hotel is located in the city’s Calle de Atocha street, providing easy access to some famous museums and UNESCO heritage sites.

It is around 500m away from Madrid Atocha railway station.

The newly opened hotel includes 260 guestrooms, including ten suites.

All the rooms feature the brand’s signature design and facilities, including balconies with and floor-to-ceiling windows.

Guests can choose from three different dining options, of which one is a rooftop restaurant, Nigiri Basque House, the other is located on the ground floor, called NKO, and the third is a takeaway corner, DeBokata.

NKO and Nigiri Basque House are slated to open later in early November, along with the planned opening of the hotel’s gym.

The property has a bar, ‘Oso Rojo’, which offers an all-day menu comprising of small plates, snacks, sandwiches and cocktails.

A separate in-house venue for organising large meetings, celebrations and social gatherings is also provided for the hotel’s guests.

Radisson RED Madrid general manager Sam Bath said: “Thoughtful local touches, including the statement bear and strawberry tree sculpture at hotel’s entrance, promise to create a truly unique and dynamic experience for guests.

“Complete with exciting culinary options, a lively bar, and spacious lobby with upbeat music and quirky design pieces, Radisson RED Madrid will be an urban getaway like no other.”

The latest opening is part of RHG’s growth strategy to open 20 properties in next five years. 

RHG’s some of the recent multi-branded openings under this plan include, Magdalena Plaza Sevilla, Gran Vía Bilbao and Barcelona Sagrada Familia.
