IHG Hotels & Resorts has expanded its Holiday Inn Express brand into Japan with the launch of Holiday Inn Express Osaka City Centre Midosuji.

The new hotel has been launched in partnership with private equity firm Baring Private Equity Asia (BPEA).

Holiday Inn Express Osaka City Centre Midosuji will undergo a complete refurbishment in the first six months following its opening.

Slated to open this month, the new hotel has 306 rooms with Wi-Fi, high-quality bedding and a cooked buffet breakfast and coffee.

IHG Hotels & Resorts Japan managing director and IHG ANA Hotels Group Japan CEO Abhijay Sandilya said: “We are honoured to launch Holiday Inn Express in Japan in partnership with Baring Private Equity Asia (BPEA), one of the largest independent private equity firms in Asia.

Holiday Inn Express Osaka City Centre Midosuji will join the company’s other properties including InterContinental Osaka, ANA Crowne Plaza Osaka, Holiday Inn Shin Osaka and Holiday Inn Osaka Namba and others.

Earlier this month, IHG Hotels & opened Holiday Inn Express Dusseldorf – Hauptbahnhof in partnership with PRIMESTAR.
