Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has been selected to manage real estate developer SIGNA Prime Selection’s Hotel Bauer in Venice, Italy.

The hotel is located at San Marco district of Venice, between the Grand Canal and Piazza San Marco and was originally built in 1880.

The restoration work is expected to start in November this year. Throughout this duration, the Hotel Bauer will not be open for guests.  

Following a multi-year renovation, the hotel will reopen as Rosewood Hotel Bauer in 2025.

Once open, Rosewood Hotel Bauer will feature more than 110 guestrooms, of which half of the accommodations will be suites including signature and presidential suite.

The hotel will include a casual restaurant and a wine bar on the ground floor along with a rooftop bar and Venetian restaurant.

Additionally, the hotel will integrate a 32,200ft² retail space and will be located at the building’s rear area, on Campo San Moisé square, near the Piazza San Marco.

Other amenities in the hotel will include a wellness facility, an Italian rooftop garden and an outdoor pool with a bar on the eighth floor.

Rosewood Hotel Bauer marks the extension of Rosewood Hotels’ existing European portfolio. It is the third new addition announced in 2022, including Raleigh Miami Beach and Rosewood Red Sea in Saudi Arabia.
